I've been using aerobic workout videos for quite a while now, and let me tell you - if you have the right setup and a positive attitude, they work every bit as well as an actual aerobics class. For me it's been similar to having my own personal fitness trainer right in my workout room. Nevertheless that's not the case for some other folks. Many people buy cardio videos, and then just have them sitting, gathering dust, and never do anything with them, a lot of others use them to catapult themselves into a healthier, more prosperous life. What's the difference? Why do cardio videos work for some folks, but fail miserably for others? Permit me to me explain.

You see, it is not specifically about the aerobics videos at all, but it has to do with the person watching them. The primary and most critical thing is that you've the right attitude towards exercise that will produce success. You need, from the beginning to set reasonable goals and a constant schedule of exercise that will help you be successful in all of your goals, and that's no easy task. That cannot come from the aerobic videos - it has to come from you. The most meaningful thing is that you exercise regularly. Doing each cardio video twice every third Sunday won't do it. Even if you never make it all the way through your cardio videos at first, you've to be doing them every day or you will not get the greatest results from them - you will hardly get any results at all, truth be told. Set realistic goals and stay with them. Think of it as if you do have to report to a fitness trainer. Remember its no good telling your-self that you will do a two hour work-out with your aerobic videos every day, and then failing straight away. Set small goals, ones you know that you can attain, to build confidence.

Equally important is to have a good room to do your aerobics workout. If you live in a cramped, one room place with clothing all over the floor, forget it. You can use some aerobic videos with less space than you may think, but if you don't at least make some room to move around in, you will never attain any of your exercise goals, and that's a crying shame. The beginning of your cardio workout is truly setting a time, clearing out a space, and psyching yourself up. Don't expect immediate success from using your cardio videos. It will be hard work. But if you keep at it, within a month you will notice major changes. Who knows this might be your call to a career in personal training.
